
Behind the Scenes of Parkchester Theatrical’s Summer of Theatre
Parkchester Theatrical had a full fledge summer working on many productions across the DFW area. The Theatrical team worked with long time partners at both North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) and the Jewish Community Center of Dallas (JCC Dallas).
They started with the NTPA Academy’s Production of James and the Giant Peach TYA Edition. They provided Lighting Design & QLab Integration.

After that, they spent some time with the NTPA Collegiate Pursuits Team. They started off with there 2nd Annual Junior/Senior Showcase. The Theatrical team provided additional audio gear, sound supervision, and show archival filming.

The next week, the theatrical team returned for the third year of NTPA Collegiate Pursuits College Audition Intensive Weekend. For the third year in a row of working on the intensive, they provided Session Recording, Technical Planning & Support, and B-Roll recording.

They then went onto support 4 productions for the JCC Dallas. They started off with the Camp Chai’s Production of Finding Nemo Jr. providing Lighting & Sound Design and QLab Integration. Then they went right onto the Camp Starquest’s Production of Shrek Jr. providing Lighting & Sound Design and QLab Integration. A few weeks later, they returned for the second sessions of camps providing Lighting & Sound Design for Camp Chai’s production of Miss Nelson goes Missing. They finished it off with Camp Starpower’s showcase providing Sound Design & QLab Integration.

In addition to these projects, they worked on a few smaller contract jobs and got to demo new lighting fixtures for future productions (Shoutout to Acme Lighting & Group 1440)
It was a long few weeks for the Parkchester Theatrical Team but they are happy to support the DFW Theatre Scene.
